Who we are
Hi there! We're Reno Refined, and you might be wondering why you should trust us with your precious dining decisions and adventure-seeking moments in the Biggest Little City. Fair question – we'd be skeptical too if some random website started telling us where to find the best croissant in town.
Well, here’s the deal. After spending nearly a decade touring the country with The Lion King and experiencing the challenge of finding local gems in new cities, I realized how valuable true local insight can be. While major metropolitan areas overflow with curated guides and 'best of' lists, smaller cities often leave visitors scrolling through endless reviews or wandering downtown streets hoping to stumble upon something special.
That's where Reno Refined comes in. As someone who grew up here, I've watched our city transform over the past two decades. I've seen Midtown blossom into a vibrant cultural hub, discovered hidden neighborhood treasures far from the casino lights, and witnessed Reno evolve into a dynamic city with so much more to offer than most visitors ever discover.
Together with my family and friends, we're sharing our carefully curated lists to help you experience the Reno we know and love. We're not just casual observers – we're locals who are passionate about food, drink, and everything our city has to offer. We're the people who line up for new restaurant openings, hunt down the best craft cocktails, and always know where to find the perfect cup of coffee.
Our mission is simple: to guide you beyond the obvious tourist spots to the places that make Reno truly special. Whether you're visiting for a week or planning to call Reno home, we want you to experience the authentic, local side of our rapidly growing city.
While we're confident in our selections (after all, eating our way through Reno is a passion project we take seriously), we're always eager to hear about hidden gems we might have missed. Have a favorite spot you think deserves recognition? We'd love to hear about it. After all, in a city growing as quickly as ours, there's always something new to discover.
